Aire géoculturelle

The name of the patron of the Bible refers to a town in Hebrew אולמנא; It has been assumed as Ulm (Germany for Narkiss, Fromjovic, Schubert); But as quoted by Kogmann-Appel, according to Elbogen Freiman Tykocinsky 1963, p. 253-254, this could be Olmen (Ulmen) in Kochem-Zell in Rhineland-Palatinate; Olm near Mainz; Ulm near Renchen. Sfardata quoted also Olmen (Belgia). Our opinion is that the name of the patron of the manuscript does not confirm a place of production, but rather of a region. It is the Art Historian B. Narkiss who remarked that the style of painted illuminations resemble South Germany Latin illuminated Manuscripts.
