| Résumé | The dramatic narrative of "Genesis 22" has always been one of the most important themes in Judaism. There are two known versions of the Sacrifice of Isaac in early Jewish art, but they have no relationship to the twenty-seven extant illustrations from the 13th to the 15th century. Most are found in prayer-books and reveal so many variations in detail that it is impossible to posit one source. It is not astonishing to discover that many of the miniatures were made by Christian artists or Jews copying medieval Christian models. Novel are the many distinct Jewish iconographic features. /// Der dramatische Bericht der "Genesis 22" ist immer schon eines der wichtigsten Themen im Judentum gewesen. Obwohl es zwei bekannte Versionen der Opferung Isaaks in der frühen jüdischen Kunst gibt, besteht zwischen ihnen und den siebenundzwanzig noch vorhandenen Abbildungen aus dem 13. bis 15. Jh. keine Verwandtschaft. Die meisten sind in Gebetbüchern vorhanden und zeigen so viele Abweichungen im Detail, daß es unmöglich ist, eine gemeinsame Quelle vorauszusetzen. Es verwundert daher nicht, daß viele der Miniaturen von christlichen Künstlern oder Juden angefertigt worden sind, die mittelalterliche christliche Vorlagen kopiert haben. Ungewohnt aber sind viele ausgesprochen jüdische ikonographische Merkmale. |
